The Claim Was Closed. The Damage Was Not.
A closing letter is paper. The building is still there.

In McAllen, Harlingen, Brownsville, and Laredo we see the same sequence. The carrier issued payment. The owner cashed it because payroll and tenants do not wait. Months later a contractor opens the roof, a tenant reports a wet ceiling, or the loss-of-rents period was cut off while units were still down.
A supplement or a reopen is possible when additional covered damage or undervaluation can be documented. It is not a promise. Some files are finished. Some were closed because the first estimate never measured the building.
Bring the closing letter, the carrier estimate, and current photographs. If a release was signed, send it — some releases end the discussion, some do not.
